10 Sweat Proof Work Outfits For Summer

10 Sweat Proof Work Outfits For Summer

A new year calls for a new work wardrobe. And lucky for you, I've found ten outfits that won't show sweat.

The corporate clothes world it littered with polyester. Not only because it's cheap, but because it can be useful in design by giving structural integrity. However, for excessive sweating, a blazer lined with polyester is not our friend.

When I was in university looking for corporate clothes for interviews and internships, all I could find were polyester items or colours that would absolutely show sweat. It was so frustrating. One of my best finds during this time was a blazer from Uniqlo that had no lining, but was a viscose/polyester blend. Perfect for any time of year, easy to wash, didn't smell because it didn't have awful polyester lining, 10/10!

Keep scrolling to discover my hyperhidrosis-approved, sweat proof work outfits for summer.

10 Sweat Proof Work Outfits

1. Scanlan Theodore Silk Jacquard Set

Scanlan Theodore - LS Silk Jacquard Shoulder Pad Shirt

Material: 100% Silk

Scanlan Theodore - Silk Jacquard Trouser

Material: 100% Silk

If you follow us on Instagram, you'll know that I love these silk jacquard trousers. They're perfect for hiding sweat, so it's a no-brainer to pair them with the matching shirt for a chic, sweat proof work look.

2. Scanlan Theodore Crepe Knit Set - with pants

Scanlan Theodore - Sateen Knit Jacket

Material: 65% Viscose 35% Nylon

Scanlan Theodore - Crepe Knit V Neck Singlet

Material: 68% Viscose 32% Polyamide

Scanlan Theodore - Crepe Knit Soft Trouser

Material: 68% Viscose 32% Polyamide

I've worn Scanlan crepe knit in white, black, and navy, and know they don't show sweat. The navy and white are a welcome change from the usual black suiting I'd go for. For this particular outfit, I haven't worn these exact pants. From memory these are slightly thinner than the ones I own, so I can't say for sure they don't show sweat (but I'm pretty certain they'd be fine).

The sateen jacket is a game changer. It washes really well, gives a great silhouette with the waist tie, and is the perfect office layer.

3. Scanlan Theodore Crepe Knit Set - with skirt

Scanlan Theodore - Crepe Knit Peplum Collar Jacket

Material: 68% Viscose 32% Polyamide

Scanlan Theodore - Crepe Knit Square Camisole

Material: 67% Viscose 31% Polyamide 2% Elastane

Scanlan Theodore - Crepe Knit Soft Hem Skirt

Material: 68% Viscose 32% Polyamide

I also have this exact outfit. It's perfect for a confidence boost and I immediately feel empowered because it's such a structured look. The peplum jacket is quite heavy so it will take some time to dry after washing. For sweat it actually works fine. I would wear a sleeved shirt with this if I know I'll be sweating a lot to keep the jacket fresher for longer.

The cami is also perfect as an everyday basic. Scanlan Theodore usually comes out with seasonal colours for their crepe knit besides just black, navy, and white. So keep an eye out for future stock.

4. Scanlan Theodore Silk Dress

Scanlan Theodore - Silk Jacquard Mini Dress

Material: 100% Silk

This dress is made with the same silk jacquard as outfit number 1 (matching trousers and shirt) so I had to include it in this list. I love it!

5. Marcs Silk Dress

Marcs - Leaf the City Silk Dress

Material 100% Silk

Marcs does great workwear. I love the prints they have, they're always so summery. And that goes for this leaf print dress. This dress would be great in winter too, paired with stockings and a jacket.

6. Marcs Viscose Dress

Marcs - Paisley Town Mini Dress

Material: 100% Viscose

Just like number 5, this dress would be good with winter layering. But it's also perfect as is for summer. I know it can be cold in the office sometimes, depending on the aircon levels, so something with a sleeve isn't a bad idea. It prevents you needing a jacket all the time.

7. Marcs Embroidered Cotton Dress

Marcs - Nobody's Perfect Dress

Material: 100% Cotton

Something a bit more detailed, I love the embroidery on this!

8. Marcs Blouse and Sandro Pants

Marcs - Paisley Town Blouse

Material: 100% Viscose

Sandro - Pressed Crease Suit Trousers

Material: 100% Virgin Wool

Pair this outfit with some heeled loafers and you're good to go! Grab that morning matcha on your way too.

9. Veronika Maine Set - with skirt (Scanlan crepe knit pencil skirt and jacket dupe)

Veronika Maine - Zip Front Milano Crepe Knit Jacket

Material:  60% Viscose 40% Nylon

Veronika Maine - Milano Crepe Knit Pencil Skirt

Material:  60% Viscose 40% Nylon

Well if it isn't a Scanlan crepe knit dupe! The jacket comes in navy (ink) and ivory as pictured. This is a more affordable option, but I daresay it won't last nearly as long as the Scanlan crepe knit (known for its durability). In any case, I had to include it!

10. Veronika Maine Set - with pants (Scanlan crepe knit tank dupe)

Veronika Maine - Drapey Semi-Fitted Blazer

Material: Main - 92% Ecovero Viscose 8% Polyester, Lining - 55% Polyester 45% Viscose

Veronika Maine - Square Neck Tank

Material: 54% Viscose 41% Nylon 5% Elastane

Veronika Maine - European Lyocell Linen Belted Pant

Material: Main -74% Tencel Lyocell 26% Linen, Lining - 63% Rayon 37% Polyester

I haven't had a chance to see these pants in person, so I'm not sure if the lining refers to the pocket or the actual pant lining. Either way, it's not a bad composition and should be fine with sweating. This crepe knit tank is also a Scanlan dupe! As for the blazer, with the lining being over half polyester it has the potential to smell more than a blazer without polyester lining. But it's preferred compared to one that's 100% polyester, which is why I included it. It was hard to find any without!

BONUS - Here are some extra tops that would be great for your work wardrobe:

Veronika Maine - Crepe Knit Peplum Top

Material: 60% Viscose 40% Nylon

Veronika Maine - Ruched Cap Sleeve Knit Top

Material: 80% Viscose 20% Nylon

Veronika Maine - Slinky Jersey Draped Boat Neck Top

Material: 100% Viscose

I hope this has given you some inspiration for your work wardrobe and what to look for in the future! I recommend seeing the clothes in-store to see if they're for you, as I know with sweating, what we're comfortable with is different for each person.

Take a peek at my sweat friendly shoe wish list for ideas on what to pair with your work outfits. My favourites are number four and seven! And you can't forget some comfy black dress socks to go with them. These have never failed me with excessive sweating.
